Bee Balm

Flowers have an attractive shaggy or pom-pom appearance and bloom in a wide array of colors ranging from white, pink and lavender to red and purple. Fragrant leaves can also be used for tea. The colorful blooms attract butterflies and hummingbirds. Oswego tea is another common name for Monarda because early settlers near Oswego, N. Y. steeped the leaves to make tea.
