Salvia (sal'-vee-a)

Sage

A garden favorite! Salvia has a long bloom period, tolerates drought, and comes in hues ranging from purple and blue to red, pink and white. Plants reach a height of 2-3' and blend well with many other plants. An ideal perennial for almost any garden. Salvia comes from the word Salveo, meaning save. This is in reference to the plant's reported medicinal value. Companion Plants: Achillea, Leucanthemum, Aster, Coreopsis, Miscanthus.
