Bitter Root

Indigenous to the western United States, lewisia have been found clinging to rocky ledges, in damp gravely places, alpine meadows, and arid deserts, full sun and thorough drainage are a must. Companion Plants: Armeria, Geranium, Iberis, Sedum.

Solid and striped flower clusters on erect stems with lovely bright flowers in shades of white, pink, red, yellow and orange, small woody plants with evergreen rosettes of large, thick, succulent leaves, a great plant for rock gardens, or low borders, blooms late spring - early summer, grows 6-8".
